Who's Playing

Pittsburgh @ Boston College

Current Records: Pittsburgh 8-12; Boston College 8-11

What to Know

The Boston College Eagles have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Pittsburgh Panthers and are hoping to record their first win since Feb. 12 of 2019. BC and Pitt will face off in an ACC battle at 4 p.m. ET Sunday at Silvio O. Conte Forum. The Eagles are out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.

The matchup between BC and the North Carolina Tar Heels this past Wednesday was not particularly close, with BC falling 58-47. Guard Jaeden Zackery had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only six points on 3-for-11 shooting in his 38 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the contest between Pitt and the Syracuse Orange last week was still a pretty decisive one as the Panthers wrapped it up with a 64-53 victory at home. Pitt can attribute much of their success to guard Jamarius Burton, who had 21 points and five assists in addition to six rebounds.

The Eagles are the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. Those playing the odds have seen things go back and forth with BC, who are 9-10 against the spread.

BC is now 8-11 while Pitt sits at 8-12. A pair of offensive stats to keep an eye on: BC has only been able to knock down 40.90% percent of their shots, which is the 33rd lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. The Panthers have experienced some struggles of their own as they are sixth worst in college basketball in points per game, with only 61.8 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
