How It Happened
  • Merrimack opened up the game with intensity, taking the lead in the opening minutes of the game. Defender Kiki Roust sent the puck in deep from the point, where it was settled down near the corner. Ally Qualley jumped in and corralled the puck along the wall, curling along the faceoff circle– cutting in to fire a quick shot in to score in her second straight game.

  • UNH tied the game up in the first minute of the middle frame, as the visitors worked down low with the puck before sending in a short centering pass. In the crease, the Wildcats set pressure down low and sent in the game tying goal.
  • The Warriors looked to have tied the game in the initial seconds of the third period, but a sweeping glove save by the Wildcats netminder kept the game even. Merrimack's offense continued to blister the UNH net with shots, posting 14 attempts in the third period.
  • Despite the offensive firepower of the Warriors, the Wildcats came out with the last minute deciding goal. With 1:05 left to play in the third, UNH tallied a heartbreaking goal with 1:05 to play to take the game away from the Warriors.
