Virginia Elizabeth Robinson-Bonnette is officially a centenarian.
She turned 100 years old today. A true embodiment of the greatest generation, and she's Charleston born and raised!
Robinson-Bonnette was a pipe riveter in the early ‘40s to support the war efforts.
Her grandchildren painted the boat on Folly Beach Road in honor of her birthday.
She has called the Lowcountry her home since day one.
“I’ve never had a reason to leave, so I’ve lived all my life in the Charleston area," Robinson-Bonnette said. "I’ve had a good life. I’m old and decrepit now, but still I’ve got a good brain, and that’s what’s really important!
Today on this special occasion, she even received a proclamation from the City of Folly Beach, literally etching her name into history.
