Grocery store employees give first aid to shooting victim in Southeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. —
Store employees used a belt as a tourniquet when a man was shot in the leg in their parking lot Friday.

Portland police said it happened at a grocery store on Southeast 122nd Avenue near Powell.
A Multnomah County deputy was in the area at the time and was able to apply a medical-grade tourniquet as they waited for first responders.
The victim was hospitalized but is expected to survive.
