APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A dispute over health care employees in the Fox Valley appears to be over.
ThedaCare on Friday dismissed its lawsuit against Ascension Wisconsin over seven members of ThedaCare’s interventional radiology and cardiovascular team hired by Ascension. The members worked at ThedaCare’s Level 2 trauma and stroke center in Neenah.
The dismissal comes four days after Outagamie County Judge Mark McGinnis ended a temporary restraining order, which told Ascension to make certain staff available to ThedaCare to ensure critical care continued while the case continued. The decision to lift the order allowed the seven medical workers to start work immediately at Ascension.
In an announcement on the dismissal of the lawsuit, ThedaCare President and CEO Imran Andrabi said the following:
“We regret the seven team members who accepted positions outside of ThedaCare were impacted by this situation, and we have made efforts to ensure that the risk to them was minimized for the day between employment. We know the work of interventional radiology and cardiovascular nurses and technologists saves lives, and we wish them well in their new roles.

It is through their work, expertise and compassion that we live our mission, and we are committed to listening and learning from this situation. Our appreciation knows no bounds for our team members’ unwavering commitment to our patients and each other.”
ThedaCare owns hospitals in Appleton and Neenah, among others. Ascension’s hospitals include St. Elizabeth in Appleton and Mercy in Oshkosh.
