Sorry, folks.

Rochester Democrat and Chronicle
It's gonna be cold out there this weekend.

#Ccccold

Subzero wind chills are in the weekend forecast. A wind chill advisory has been issued for Saturday for Ontario, Livingston, Wyoming, Allegany and Cattaraugus counties. And while Monroe County is not part of the advisory, it will still be extremely cold. The good news is that Sunday will feel positively balmy in comparison, with temps rising into to the low 20s. So, maybe break out your cargo shorts.

#PedestrianKilled

Madeline Schreiber, 83, of Oakdale Drive in Brighton was killed early Thursday afternoon when another Oakdale Drive resident, Linda Petrosino, 40, backed her car out of her driveway and struck Schreiber, who was walking her dog. Petrosino was ticketed for unsafe backing, a charge she will answer in Brighton Town Court at a later date. The dog was not injured and was returned to the victim’s family.

#GuiltyOfManslaughter

A state Supreme Court jury on Thursday convicted a Rochester man in the beating death of a 3-year-old boy in his care. Anthony Love was acquitted of second-degree murder but found guilty of first-degree manslaughter for Kei’mere Marshall’s death, which followed physical abuse between July 1 and 11, 2020, resulting in numerous serious injuries that went untreated and led to blood loss and cardiac arrest. Love, now 34, lived with the boy and his mother, Andrea Lipton, now 30, in a home on Avenue C. She is charged with second-degree manslaughter for failing to get him medical treatment, “knowing that he was in pain” and in need of medical treatment, Rochester police Investigator Jackie Shuman said at the time of Lipton’s arrest. Her trial starts in April.

#SchoolsIn

The Strong National Museum of Play has expanded its Woodbury School for preschool and early kindergarten students, which will enable it to enroll more than 120 students annually, nearly 50% more than previously, and offer summer programs. The news comes just weeks after two other longtime preschools, one at Rochester Museum & Science Center, and one on Chili Avenue, announced they will close at the end of the 2021-22 school year.

See you Monday.
