There mightn’t have been the same kind of scoreboard disparity as against the Mavericks, but the Golden State Warriors again displayed their fearsome offensive arsenal in an ominous warning to the rest of the NBA.

The Warriors had their best three-point shooting display of the season, going 21-36 from downtown as they defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night. That included 19 threes from the quartet of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole, as Golden State built a near on perfect, balanced offensive production.

The Golden State Warriors claimed their fourth win in a row, overcoming the young, vibrant Timberwolves in an impressive 124-115 victory at Chase Center.

But the Warriors didn’t have it all their own way, Minnesota going toe-to-toe with their more favored opponents for much of the contest. The Timberwolves began on an 8-0 run before the Warriors wrestled back momentum, hitting seven of their first eight three-point attempts.

Yet, in a theme throughout the match, the Timberwolves remained competitive despite the contrast in shooting production. That was largely in part to their all-star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, with the former number one overall pick bullying his way to a 23-point, 7 rebound first half.

After Minnesota went in with a four-point lead at halftime, the Warriors quickly turned the game on its head in a typical third quarter burst. Kick-started by two Klay Thompson triples, Golden State outscored the Timberwolves 38-20 in the third to take a 14-point lead.

While the Timberwolves continued to push towards an unlikely win and even got within five with just over five minutes remaining, the Warriors seemed to have a counter whatever punch Minnesota had.

Curry was key in preventing any Minnesota heroics, launching a couple more triples to finish with 26 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals on the night. More importantly, the shooting looked much more Curry-Esque, nailing six of his ten attempts from deep.

In further positive news, Thompson and Poole produced back-to-back impressive performances as team chemistry continues to make strides. The five-time all-star finished with 23 points, five rebounds and four assists on five-for-nine from deep, while the third-year guard drilled three of his four three-point attempts on the way to 19 points and five assists. Wiggins, on the back of news of his first all-star berth, celebrated with 19 points, five rebounds and four assists on five-for-eight from downtown.

The nine-point win takes the Warriors to 36-13 on the season, remaining steady behind the Suns as the second seed in the west.

After some uncharacteristic play including a shocking loss to the Pacers, Golden State has the chance to end their home trip with a 6-1 record as they take on the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.
