Ratings Breakdown For This Week’s AEW Dynamite

As we previously reported, this past Wednesday’s Beach Break edition of AEW Dynamite drew 1.1 million viewers and got a 0.41 rating (530,000 viewers) in the key adults 18-49 demographic. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has a more detailed look at the numbers including each individual quarter-hour.

Dynamite performed well with teenagers, 50+ and males 35-49. Males 18-49 started at 376,000, went up to 407,000 for the ladder match and were down to around 371,000 by the main event. Women 18-49 started at 189,000, then dropped off, especially for Q6, but rebounded for the main event. The Britt Baker promo in particular started at 189,000, dropped to 116,000 then the number went up to 136,000 for the main. The main event was the only match that gained with women in the entire show. Women 18-34 dropped in Q6 from 72,000 to 53,000 and eventually rose to 59,000 for the main. Men 18-34 stayed consistent and grew through Q4 and Q5, before dropping from 104,000 to 85,000 in Q6. It was back up again for the Baker promo to 118,000. Men 35-49 did not grow during the Baker segment. Women 35-49 fell from 78,000 during the women’s match (80,000 in Q4), fell to 63,000 during the Baker promo and rose to 77,000 for the main.

AEW was behind RAW in other measures, but did win with men for the sixth week in a row, 379,000 to 357,000. Men 18-49 were up 5.9% from last week but women were down 29.1%. Dynamite was #2 for the night behind a late NBA game between the Phoenix Suns and the Utah Jazz (1,189,000 viewers; 0.43). It beat the head-to-head NBA game between teh New York Knicks and the Miami Heat (1,065,000 viewers; 0.38), making it #1 for its time slot. The show was #11 in women 18-49, #2 in men 18-49, #3 in 18-34 (behind the NBA), #5 in women 12-34 and #3 in men 12-34. 71.5% of the audience was male, so the number of women watching was down overall.

Dynamite had 103,000 viewers in men 18-34 (down 12% from last week), 63,000 in women 18-34 (down 17.1%), 276,000 in men 35-49 (up 14.5%) and 88,000 in women 35-49 (down 35.8%). Overall, it was up 6.6% from last week in viewership (increase in older viewers), down 7% in 18-49 (decrease in female viewers) and down 14% in 18-34. It had a 0.21 in 12-17 (up 16.7%), 0.24 in 18-34 (down 14%), 0.58 in 35-49 (down 3.7%) and 0.42 in 50+ (up 13.5%).

The first quarter was the high point in total viewers, women 18-49 and women 35-49. Q2 was the high point in 18-49, males 18-49 and males 35-49 (men were up 8% while women were down 7%). Q5 was the high point in women 18-34. Q8 was the high point in 18-34 and males 18-34. Overall the show stayed over a million viewers the entire time.
