The Celtics have won back-to-back games after dropping two straight, while the Hawks look to extend their five-game win streak.
Boston was off Wednesday and Thursday but return to action Friday after dominant performances against the Sacramento Kings and Washington Wizards. The Celtics beat both teams by more than 29 points with a combined score of 244-162.
They’ve inched one game above .500 and are suddenly shooting the ball well – with SF Jayson Tatum being the biggest catalyst. He’s scored 77 points in his last two games, making 16 of 28 3-point attempts after missing 17 in a row over the three prior games.
Atlanta also throttled the Kings in its last game, beating them 121-104 to extend its win streak to five games. The Hawks’ last two wins have both been by double digits and they’ve covered the spread in all five games along their win streak.
All-Star PG Trae Young had an off night against the Kings with 17 points on 7-for-18 shooting, but he scored at least 28 points in each of his previous five games.

Money line
The Celtics are playing much better than they had been, but how much of that can be attributed to facing the Kings and shorthanded Wizards while riding Tatum’s hot shooting streak? The Hawks have won five games in a row and beat both the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks in that stretch.
I like the HAWKS (-130) to win outright and continue their hot streak at home, where they are 4-2 in their last six games.
Against the spread
Both teams are 5-5- ATS in their last 10 games, but it’s the Hawks who have covered in each of their last five. Boston is just 3-4 ATS in its last seven games, even losing outright as favorites against the Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Hornets.
The HAWKS -1.5 (-115) are a good bet to beat the Celtics and cover the narrow spread.
Over/Under
The totals have gone under in each of the last two games for both the Celtics and Hawks, but that’s mostly because they won in blowout fashion. This game should be much closer and there should be an uptick in scoring with both teams healthy.
As long as Tatum stays hot and Young doesn’t have another cold night, I like the total to go OVER 217.5 (-112).
