Even though the Grammy's will be pushed to April, other music award shows will proceed as planned.

Taking place on March 22 in Los Angeles, the iHeartRadio Music Awards is now in its ninth year.

Considered one of music's other biggest nights, the iHeartRadio Music Awards will honor the artists and songs with the most airplay on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app during the year 2021.

On its most-sought after award, the "Song of the Year" category nominates ten 2021 hits; these include Olivia Rodrigo's "driver's license", Adele's "Easy On Me", "Levitating" by Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits", Silk Sonic's "Leave The Door Open", Ariana Grande's "Positions", Lil Nas X's "Montero (Call Me By Your Name).

Aside from the mentioned, Justin Bieber breaks record as he managed to have two songs nominated in the "Song of the Year" category. His collaboration with Australian-singer The Kid LAROI "Stay", and "Peaches" with Daniel Ceasar and GIVEON.

Should Adele or Ed Sheeran take home the award for the category, any of the two will become the first two-time winners in the "Song of the Year" category. Adele brought home the award in 2016 with his hit track "Hello" while Sheeran won two years after with "Shape of You".

New feats and additions

Aside from the usual awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards will also feature new categories, now giving the fans more power to dictate the winners.

The show will now feature awards voted directly by the fans. New categories include "Best Fan Army", "Best Cover Song", "Best Lyrics", "Best Music Video", "TikTok Bop of the Year", and the first-ever "TikTok Songwriter of the Year".

However, the "Producer of the Year" nominees will be released at a later date, and the "Songwriter of the Year" nominees.

Aside from the Label of the Year award, there are individual winners for Album of the Year in each of the music industry's most popular genres.

These include pop music, country music, alternative rock, dance music, hip-hop, R&B, Latin music, and regional Mexican formats.

The two-hour event will be broadcasted live from the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on March 22, 2022 and is scheduled to air on Fox.

The 2020 performance, which was moved from its traditional March time slot to September due to the pandemic and then held digitally, was not broadcast on television.
