Camp Capella’s Polar Dip Fundraiser Is This Saturday

Another fundraiser for a camp for kids in Maine.

Camp Capella in Dedham Maine is soliciting for their annual winter event.

How about a Polar Dip? Brrr. Too bad it wasn't held yesterday when it was 60 degrees. But it's on for this Saturday.

To be held in person at Camp Capella in Dedham.  Or to be held virtually. The in-person plunge will have covid restrictions. All information available by emailing Rebecca at campcapella.org. But don't wait.

Interesting story behind the name, Camp used to be called the CP Camp for Cerebral Palsy. The kids wanted to name it themselves and instead of CP Camp called it CaPella.

Imagine what camp does for self-awareness, growth and development for the campers. Plus learning experiences, recreational activities, and oh yeah, fun too.

And the Polar Dip is one of the nonprofit Camp Capella’s biggest fundraisers each year.

You don’t have to do the dip to help out. You can donate without doing something so bone chilling, teeth rattlin’ as jump in Phillips Lake in February.  Even knowing that when you come out of the freezing cold water, you get to jump into the hot tub to warm up.

You can even help others raise money by becoming a Jittery Jumper, meaning you will pay not to experience those frigid temperatures of the water.

Hopefully the event is a lot of fun, and the good that you are all doing will warm your heart, if not your entire body on Saturday..
