Former Miami University RedHawks standout Brandon Brooks announced his retirement from the National Football League after 10 seasons - four with the Houston Texans and the past six as a right guard with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brooks, 32, was limited to just two games this past season after suffering his second Achilles tear in three years.

Brooks, a 2019 Pro Bowl selection at guard, shared workout video in June 2019 as he returned from the first Achilles injury, which he suffered during the Eagles' NFL Playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Brooks became a Super Bowl champion in Feb. 2018 with the Eagles and was a Pro Bowl selection that season as well.

Brooks graduated from Miami University as part of the Class of 2011 and spoke in May 2018 at MU's spring commencement ceremony at Yager Stadium in Oxford, earning strong reviews.
