COLUMBUS -- Boone Jenner scored twice and had an assist for the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 5-3 win against the New York Rangers at Nationwide Arena on Thursday.

Sean Kuraly scored two goals, Zach Werenski had three assists, and Joonas Korpisalo made 33 saves for the Blue Jackets (19-21-11), who had lost three straight.
"We tried to play to our strengths," Jenner said. "We had some shifts in their zone, we had some looks on the rush. We definitely want to keep building on it."

Artemi Panarin scored and had two assists, and Alexandar Georgiev made 14 saves for the Rangers (28-12-4).
New York defenseman Adam Fox, second in the NHL with 40 assists, left with an upper-body injury early in the third period. He was placed on injured reserve on Friday.
Fox was pinned to the boards by Columbus defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov and went to the bench after a 19-second shift ending 51 seconds into the period.
"We didn't play the way we should have played for 60 minutes and that cost us two points tonight," Rangers coach Gerard Gallant said. "We weren't ourselves tonight, let's put it that way. There were three guys I was happy with and the rest of them were below what they usually are."
Jenner's second goal of the game at 12:27 of the second period made it 4-2. Mika Zibanejad pulled the Rangers to within 4-3 at 7:12 of the third period with a power-play goal before Kuraly scored into empty net at 17:46 for the 5-3 final.
Korpisalo, who allowed a goal on the first shot he faced, made 19 saves in the third period.
"It's not always perfect or how you script it in the beginning," Blue Jackets coach Brad Larsen said. "In the third he was lights out, made some incredible saves down the stretch."

NYR@CBJ: Panarin wires home wrister to open scoring

Panarin made it 1-0 at 1:29 of the first period with a shot from the high slot; his 12th goal extended his point streak to six games. Barclay Goodrow increased the lead to 2-0 at 4:44 with a redirect of a Braden Schneider shot.
"We've had some bad starts in a row, so it was nice to get a good start," Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba said. "When we had a two-goal lead that's something you don't want to give up."
Gustav Nyquist made it 2-1 at 5:49 when a pass from Patrik Laine went off his skate. Jenner's power-play goal tied it 2-2 at 7:28.
"You could feel it," Larsen said. "After they scored their second, I liked how we were playing. The guys thought so too. You could see the chatter picked up and they were playing better."
Kuraly gave Columbus a 3-2 lead at 6:18 of the second period with a stick-on-ice redirect of a pass by Max Domi. Domi took a cross-ice pass by Werenski in the right circle.
"We let them back in," Gallant said. "We get up 2-0 and then it seemed like we stopped playing a little bit, a little overconfident, I don't know. They took the momentum and we never got it back."

"We played a good 60 overall. It was a huge win, obviously after last game," Laine said. "We have to string a couple of wins together now.
