MILWAUKEE— Giannis Antetokounmpo is starting in the 2022 NBA All-Star Game, league officials announced today. And in true Milwaukee Bucks fashion, this is the sixth time in a row he’s been voted to start in the All-Star Game.

Giannis in six.

It’s also Giannis’ sixth All-Star Game overall. He and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar hold the record for most All-Star selections within the Bucks’ franchise. In 2021, Giannis was named All-Star Game Most Valuable Player, with a game-high 35 points. The Bucks forward is the reigning NBA Finals MVP and a two time NBA MVP.

Fans, media and players choose the game’s starters. Fans account for 50% of the vote; media and players count for 25% each.

The All-Star Game will be on Feb. 20 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. Trae Young (Atlanta), DeMar DeRozan (Chicago) and Joel Embiid (Philadelphia) are the other starters on Giannis’ team, headed up by team captain Kevin Durant (Brooklyn). Stephen Curry (Golden State), LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Nikola Jokić (Denver), Ja Morant (Memphis) and Andrew Wiggins (Golden State) will also take to the court.
