If you've ever looked at a picture of Pete Davidson accompanied by any one of the many women who have collected him and thought, Huh?, not to worry, Davidson has concocted a convincing rationale for why this might be the case.

While performing a stand-up set at the 9th Annual Patrice O’Neal Comedy Benefit Concert in New York City last week, Davidson joked about the public's fascination with him by presenting a new theory about why women find him attractive.

“There seems to be a curiosity about me, is what my friends tell me,” the Saturday Night Live comedian said, per Us Weekly. “I was trying to figure out how to explain myself to someone because I was doing an interview.”

He then began to compare himself to the cluster of discount DVDs one might find at a 7-Eleven, citing cinematic treasures like Predator 2, Shrek Forever After, and Tropic Thunder.

Davidson joked that a “classic” like Tropic Thunder “doesn’t belong in the trash,” and the same could be said for himself. “I’m Tropic Thunder. I’m the diamond in the trash,” he said. “It’s a steal.”

Within the past four years, Davidson has been linked to Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, Kaia Gerber, and Phoebe Dynevor.

Most recently, the comedian seems to be enjoying his time with Kim Kardashian. Earlier this month, he and the SKIMS founder headed to the Bahamas for a tropical vacation together.

“Kim and Pete are on vacation spending time together,” a source told Entertainment Tonight of the trip. “The two weren’t able to ring in the new year since she was with her family in California and Pete was hosting his NYE special [with Miley Cyrus] in Miami.”
