The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is only set to arrive in dealerships by this spring but the brand has now revealed how much the plug-in hybrid full-size SUV range will cost. With claims of this being the greenest and most capable Grand Cherokee yet, pricing will start at $57,700 for the standard model and $62,485 for the Trailhawk. All prices are MSRP before destination and incentives. With the introduction of a PHEV, the company hopes to maintain this model's leadership position.

The entry-level model will fly the brand's off-road capability flag by hosting key features such as its Selec-Terrain traction management system as standard. This will be supported by a catalog of safety features such as full-speed collision warning with active braking for pedestrian and cyclist detection together with rear cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, and active lane management.

Ensuring the comfort and convenience of its passengers, the cabin will play host to Capri leather upholstery, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster connected to a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, power eight-way driver seat with memory functions, and a 506-watt nine-speaker Alpine audio system.

The Trailhawk has been described as the most off-road capable product of the range. It earns this badge with the addition of a sand and snow recovery protocol via the Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system. This drive features an active electronic two-speed transfer case with low range, 47.4:1 crawl ratio, and rear eLSD that can send 100% of torque to one rear wheel if you happen to get into a tight spot.

It also features the Quadra-Lift air suspension with semi-active damping which can raise the travel to 4.7 inches, ground clearance to 10.9-inches, water fording to 24 inches, and break-over angle to 22.3 degrees. This trim rides on a set of 18-inch wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires and employs some hard-wearing suede and Capri leather combination upholstery.

The Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe comes in at $65,760 with enhanced on- and off-road characteristics. It uses the Quadra-Trac II system which can actively correct any tire slip. To resolve the loss of traction, it will distribute all of the torque to the axle that has the most grip. It's also fitted with a more premium interior boasting Nappa leather upholstery and An-Teak trimmings.

For a more conclusive cabin experience, the Overland introduces ventilated seats and a McIntosh audio system featuring 19 speakers, a subwoofer, and a 950-watt amplifier. The front row of seats is treated to a set of length-adjustable cushions as well as a new electronic remote for rear cargo access.

Outside, you'll find a set of 20-inch aluminum wheels with Black Noise pockets. The Overland appearance is defined by a set of front tow hooks and a gloss black roof rack with Bright Stainless inserts. Painted black roofs will be available on later models but all cars will benefit from a set of Gloss Black mirrors with Bright Chrome inserts.

If you want peak capability and luxury, the Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe will be more your flavor at $69,820. This sources everything that you get from Overland and adds an Absolute Oakwood and leather-wrapped multifunctional steering wheel together with Berber floor mats. The front row of seats boasts a 16-way adjustable functionality with memory, lumbar support, and massage as standard.

Key comfort features in the Summit include four-zone automatic climate control, two illuminated cupholders, and two-tier armrests for the second row. Definitive design cues consist of 20-inch polished cast-aluminum wheels in Mid-Gloss Clear, Summit-specific LED fog lamps, power-folding Gloss Black mirrors with a Platinum insert and 360-degree camera, illuminated door sills, and a roof rack with Fine Silver rails and Gloss Black inserts.

The flagship of the range is the Summit Reserve package which will set you back $74,300. With this, you get safety features such as active driving assist, drowsy driver detection, intersection collision assist, traffic sign recognition, 360-degree surround-view camera with front and rear lens washers, and parallel and perpendicular park assist.

The cabin is upholstered in Palermo leather while guests in the passenger seat can be entertained by a 10.25-inch interactive display. This trim is set apart by the rest of the range with its open-pore Waxed Walnut wood and premium suede-like fabric on the A-pillars and headliner as well as ventilation for the rear seats. The outside is made to look more distinctive with its 21-inch wheels.
