Power Book II: Ghost fans probably never thought that Zeke (Daniel Bellomy) would become a central character on the show. Originally, he was just a side character who Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) was tasked to tutor to keep him on the basketball team. But now, fans have learned that Zeke is the key to some of the Tejadas’ hidden family secrets.

Monet Tejada’s (Mary J. Blige) has been overbearing and protective of her nephew (but actual son) Zeke for years. In fact, she’s seemed to prefer him over her own children, Cane (Woody McClain), Diana (LaToya Tonodeo), and Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray). Now we know why.

But in the years before Zeke moved to New York, who raised him?

Zeke is the son of Monet and Mecca on ‘Power Book II: Ghost’

The second season of Power Book II: Ghost has hardly begun when fans were hit with a shocker. It was revealed that Ezekiel “Zeke” Cross is actually Monet’s son, not her nephew. We learn that she got pregnant with him when she was with her high school sweetheart Dante aka Mecca (Daniel Sunjata). But before he learned about the child, he was arrested and sent away to the Army.

Though we know much more about the Tejada family timeline there are still so many questions that remain unanswered.

Who raised Zeke?

Since we know that Zeke is four years older than he originally thought, it looks like Monet and her family went to great lengths to keep the truth of his birth story under wraps. From what we can tell, Zeke was born in North Carolina.

“Zeke is their son he was born in 1998, and Cane was born in 1999,” a fan explained via Express. “Meaning she had Zeke before meeting Lorenzo also remember her telling Mecca ‘this ain’t my mom house can’t be knocking over trash cans.’”

Now, Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp has also revealed who raised Zeke. During a recent Instagram Live Kemp explained that Zeke was raised by Monet’s sister Lena before moving to be with the Tejadas when he went to high school. Apparently, fans will meet Lena in Ghost season 3. As we know, Monet told Zeke that his father was in jail for life.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2: Fans Already Have Predictions

Will Lorenzo kill Monet after finding out about Zeke on ‘Power Book II: Ghost’?

While Dru and Cane were very much alarmed with Diana’s revelation about Zeke being their older brother, Lorenzo was infuriated. As we know he’d only just met Zeke and to know that Monet has kept a secret from him for over 20 years had to be devastating.

Nothing matters to Lorenzo more than loyalty, trust, and family, and after finding out the truth, he asked Monet to leave their family home. However, fans highly doubt that will be his only response. As we know, Lorenzo is brutal and violent and shows little mercy.

Now, fans are concerned that Lorenzo may try and kill Monet. There are some major clues about his response in his character description. “The patriarch of the Tejada organization, Lorenzo has been calling the shots for the drug organization — even from inside,” the official Starz release reads. “But as Monet continues to flex her independence — and a desire to protect her kids from the game– Lorenzo’s need to control brings them into conflict. Lorenzo becomes intrigued by some secrets Monet has been keeping from him– and a conflict grows that threatens to split the Tejada family in two.”
