They have showed the rest of Red Rock? They definitely showed up to the final episode of it as I remember watching it. You may have missed it as it was shown on BBC2 due to it being against Wimbledon. Think it was shown in 2020.

Yes, it was definitely all shown, sadly they stopped production so it was left hanging to an extent - but everything filmed and broadcast in Ireland has been shown here.

I "lost" Red Rock too; the series link dropped off my planner for bbc1 and didn't pick up that it had moved to bbc2 during Wimbledon. This has happened with other bbc shows that have to change bbc channels. Eventually twigged where it was hiding but by that time had missed too many episodes to follow the s/l and didn't have time to catch up on iplayer. Shame as I'm guessing quite a few viewers dropped off for the same reason.

Anywayz back to Hope Street thanks for the thread OP I've got it set to record (unless they decide to shove it over to bbc2) 😉

There have been some posts about this in the Shakespeare and Hathaway series 2 thread before this one was started but good to start a thread of its own before the series starts in daytime. I have seen most of it as it has already been shown in Northern Ireland and it is on i player. I enjoy it as a cross between The Coroner, early Home and Away and a modern Heartbeat where the scenery is lovely and it is usually good weather. I would say give it three episodes if you're undecided about it, as I think it takes it that time to find its rhythm - the first episode is all setting the scene and meeting the characters and people getting used to new situations and the second has a little bit more pathos to it than is typical of the rest of it. From then on (up to episode 8 that I have seen anyway) it grows into a warm, bright, light drama, which is as much old style soap as it is police drama.

I'm actually just watching last nights episode (ep 9) right now! It's a nice wee drama and makes a change to see something set in Northern Ireland that isn't centred around Belfast.

I randomly found it on iplayer not realising it would appear in the daytime Father Brown slot - it's a decent enough series and should fit into that slot quite nicely.

Donaghadee's finest! Went on holiday to Millisle for many years in the 1970s as a child, so know the whole area very well. Sometimes we would walk to Donaghadee and back in the evenings.

There are lots of lovely little seaside towns and villages on Northern Ireland's coastline - good to see Donaghadee feature in this.

This was shown on BBC 1 Northern Ireland started early December. I watched, then lost interest. Came across as typical, small seaside town locals in N.I. all gossip and the new women detective coming in a rushing into rocking the boat.

I agree that as an old fashioned soap it won't be for everyone, but it grew on me after about three episodes. It is a bit like Madame Blanc in that respect - probably not the best of its genre, but enjoyable enough as something different for a change - and it has nice scenery!

It is far better than Madame Blanc, episode 4 is very gritty for day time tv

Quite ironic that on the day Hope Street starts broadcasting nationwide the PSNI rolls out the first uniform change in it's history - including white shirt and tie replaced by green top. Wonder if there will be a second series to see it in?

I watched the first episode today. I quite enjoyed it, a little bit different to the norm and seems like an easy watch, not too taxing or traumatic, which suits me just fine at the moment. I've set the recorder for the rest.

I've just watched episode 2 ( quite a twist in that one ) and while I'm finding some of the acting a bit 'hammy', overall it's a pleasant enough way to pass 45 minutes on a winter afternoon.

I like it. Its an easy watch. Concepta would give Mrs Mangel a run for her money as the local gossiping old battleaxe. Its got a sunday night drama feel to it.

Not sure yet. An interesting twist today, but some of the dialogue writing is just awful.

Easy enough watch even if the stories are a bit far fetched.

Last episode airs in NI tonight so after that the whole series will be on iPlayer

That is exactly what I thought too! I am surprised that it was described as "light hearted" in the op as the one I watched today was anything but! Episode 2 and it had me filling up at the story. Beautiful scenery and interesting, although a bit cardboard in parts with the characters.
