People snigger they hear my baby’s name & my mother-in-law said it’s awful…but they’re banned from seeing him
A MUM explained that she was fed up of people laughing at her baby's name so she planned to ban those who didn't like it from seeing him.
She said that even her mother-in-law called her chosen moniker "awful".
The mum named her six-week-old boy Brian but was annoyed that friends kept using nicknames instead of his actual name.
Taking to Mumsnet, she said: "He’s six weeks old and friends and family seem unable to call him by his actual name.
"They make up stupid names for him 'baby Bobo' for example, I’ve had people literally snigger when I say his name.

"My mother-in-law outright told us it’s an awful name for a baby and she can’t say it without laughing.
"I’ve told [my husband] I’m getting to the point where I feel if people can’t call him by his name maybe they shouldn’t be seeing him?!
"He thinks this is an overreaction and that I’m being too dramatic. They are going to make him grow up hating his own name."
Mumsnet users were quick to jump in with their thoughts on the situation.
One said: "In the nicest possible way, you surely knew what you were letting yourself in for when you named a baby Brian..?
"But it’s pretty normal to call babies by cutesy nicknames, even if they haven’t been called Brian."
To which the mother replied: "He isn’t always going to be a baby though is he? He’s named after my grandad."
Another Mumsnet user said: "You chose the name because you like it. It's not to everyone's taste but it is extremely rude to comment.
"Try to see the baby boo whatever as normal silly baby talk unless they also comment on the name."
A third said: "They're being incredibly rude. However Brian was always going to be a controversial choice."
