All of the players on this list have accomplished a lot. Enough to win a major league-wide annual award. It isn’t always easy to point out who are the worst NBA players to win each of the major NBA awards.

All of these are incredible feats, considering that some of the greatest players of all time missed out on some of them.

Who is the worst player to win each of the major NBA Awards – Finals MVP, MVP, DPOY, 6MOTY, and an All-NBA team?

When making this list, I avoided simply choosing a player from the early days of the NBA with stats that aren’t comparable to today’s game and pinpointing them as the worst. Instead, I looked at weak selections relative to their competition and cases where voters simply made “the wrong choice” due to voter fatigue or bias.

To determine the “worst NBA Players to win each of the NBA awards,” I looked at their performance versus other candidates and runner-ups for each award. As a result, the player with the weakest legacy among all the winners wasn’t always the “worst player”.

For example, Marcus Camby is probably the player with the weakest legacy among all Defensive Player of the Year winners, but Mark Eaton, a legendary defender, had the worst DPOY-winning season in 1989.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back at the worst NBA Players to win each of the NBA awards.
