According to ESPN, a one-fight deal is also on the table from PBC and Showtime to defend his undisputed super middleweight titles against middleweight champion Jermall Charlo on May 7.

Canelo Alvarez claims he had no idea about Eddy Reynoso's plan to face Ilunga Makabu

The Mexican star is currently a promotional free agent after defeating Caleb Plant in an undisputed super-middleweight clash which was staged by PBC and broadcaster Showtime.

Last month Canelo had claimed he had no idea about Eddy Reynoso's ambitious plan to request a shot at world cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu.

Reynoso, Canelo's long-time trainer and manager, sent shockwaves rippling through the sport of boxing when he called for his fighter to move up to cruiserweight and face Makabu, 34, at last month's WBC convention in Mexico City.

The Mexican became undisputed super-middleweight champion by defeating Caleb Plant

The WBC swiftly accepted his request, meaning Canelo, 31, will bid to become a five-weight world champion if a deal is reached with Makabu's team.

But Makabu is now defending his belt against Thabiso Mchunu on Saturday night.

And if Alvarez is to accept Hearn's deal and see off Bivol, he will set up a third fight with Golovkin after outpointing him in their rematch.

The Mexican would be moving up two weight classes if a deal is reached with Makabu
