Xilica Commits to Carbon Neutrality Across Global Value Chain

Xilica announced its commitment to decrease carbon emissions throughout its business to net zero. Therefore, it will achieve Climate Neutral Certified status. The company is, of course, a provider of collaboration products that help unlock the power of human connection.

Xilica will be carbon neutral across its global value chain. That means every Xilica product sold will have net zero climate impact. Moreover, the company will support the responsibility efforts of its partners and its end customers.

Xilica describes itself as the first vendor in its category to commit to carbon neutrality publicly. According to the company, it intends to empower customers by enabling more informed purchasing decisions that tie back to a product’s impact on the environment. Xilica also hopes simply to increase awareness of organizations’ carbon footprints. Thus, it hopes to create an avenue to drive greater reduction efforts throughout the supply chain.

Carbon Neutrality Offers Xilica Opportunity

According to James Knight, COO, Xilica, businesses have a profound opportunity to help tackle the climate crisis. Thus, they can work to limit its damaging impact on economic prosperity, human health and human well-being. “We know that fighting climate change requires strong, coordinated action across industries,” Knight declares. “And [we] hope our own efforts will make a positive contribution to the larger movement for greater environmental responsibility.”

As part of its commitment to carbon neutrality, Xilica of course will work with independent partners. That includes Climate Neutral, an international non-profit organization that collaborates with brands to help offset the entirety of their carbon emissions. It does so via systematic measurement and analysis of direct and indirect emissions, supply and management of carbon offsets, and best-practices guidance.

According to Climate Neutral’s CEO, Austin Whitman, consumers today are more environmentally conscious than ever. “[They’re] yearning for evidence that companies [realize] their contribution to climate change and committed to erasing it,” he says. Whitman notes that Climate Neutral is thrilled to have Xilica commit to this journey. “They will join our growing list of certified companies that are proving that we’re living in a new era of leadership on climate by top brands,” he adds.
