The first weekend of performances of Blithe Spirit at the Salem Community Theatre this weekend have been canceled due to failure of the theatre’s heating system.

An additional Thursday night show, on February 3rd, has been added to next week’s show dates to help make up for the lost shows. Blithe Spirit will now be performed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, February 3rd-5th, at 7 pm with a Sunday, February 6th, matinee at three pm.

Tickets for the show are available at Salem City Hall or online at the Salem Theatre website.

Two new roof top heating units have been located in St. Louis and are expected to be lifted onto the roof of the theatre as early as Friday.

The unexpected failure of both of the heating units will cost the theatre $7,000. While there is money in the budget, it will delay other improvements. Theatre
officials hope some would consider donations to help cover the cost.
