19 year old accused of having loaded gun at Box Elder basketball game

CHADRON – Chadron State College has announced the students on the Spring 2022 President’s and Dean’s Lists. The President's List consists of 344 students with a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Another 299 students met the requirements for the Dean’s List by earning at least a 3.5 grade point average.

At approximately 3:04 a.m. on May 11, the Sandhills Fire Protection District and Grant County Sheriff's Office were called to Highway 61, near Hyannis for a car fire. "Investigation disclosed a 33-year-old Rapid City, South Dakota man was traveling south on Hwy 61," Grant County Sheriff Mike Rath said. "He became distracted and left the roadway getting stuck in the sand. While attempting to get out, the over-heated exhaust system started the grass on fire."

Chadron —The Chadron Police Department is reminding drivers about the lifesaving benefits of wearing a seat belt this spring, during the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) national Click It or Ticket high-visibility enforcement effort. The national seat belt campaign, which coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, runs from May 23 to June 5, 2022.

CHADRON – Graduating Chadron State College seniors were honored Friday during Ivy Day, a traditional event since 1919, sponsored by the Blue Key and Cardinal Key honoraries. Ivy Day royalty elected by the student body are Queen Jori Peters of Mitchell, Neb., and King Estabon Bozeman of Los Angeles. The queen’s attendants were Abigail Klammer of Juanita, Neb., Aubree Noble of Chadron, Alexis Heller of Wisner, Neb., and Isioma Akwanamnye of Lagos, Nigeria. The king’s attendants were Jordan Orr of Ogallala, Neb., Riley Hill of Greybull, Wyo., Justin Gress of Hebron, Neb., and Kael Juelfs of Kingman, Ariz. Junior attendants to the queen candidates were Lillian Keithly, Violet Keithly, Vivian Ritzen, KhiKinoi Sayaloune, Riley Snitily, all daughters of CSC employees.
