The TV nominations are in for the 2022 Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards. Oscar favorites Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin are among the directors in the running for Documentary Feature Films thanks to “The Rescue,” their harrowing look inside the 2018 Thai cave rescue. The pair previously scored nods in this category for “Free Solo,” which they took home an Oscar for, and “Meru.” Overall, two of five titles nominated in the category are directed or co-directed by women. Vasarhelyi is joined by Jessica Kingdon, who is being recognized for her feature directorial debut, “Ascension,” a visual essay exploring the contemporary “Chinese dream.”

Every single director in the Dramatic TV Series category is being honored for their work on HBO hit “Succession.” Two of them are women: “Hustlers” helmer Lorene Scafaria and Shari Springer Berman. The latter is being recognized alongside long-term collaborator Robert Pulcini. Most recently, the pair directed Amanda Seyfried-starrer “Things Heard & Seen.”

Five helmers are in the running for Comedy TV Series, and three are women. “Hacks” co-creator Lucia Aniello, and “Ted Lasso’s” MJ Delaney and Erica Dunton. Besides “Hacks,” Aniello is best known for her work on “Broad City” and co-directing the star-studded 2017 comedy “Rough Night.” Delaney’s other credits include Amazon/Channel 4 comedy “Frank of Ireland,” and Dunton’s include “Good Trouble” and “The Bold Type.”

Head over to Variety to check out all of the remaining TV categories and nominees. The DGA Awards are being held March 12.
