Future cheerleaders

Friends from Horn Elementary School (pictured) participated in the Bellaire High School cheer clinic. The annual clinic is a fundraiser for the BHS cheer program and introduces young students to the sport of cheerleading. Participants were divided into grade-level groups and learned a spirit dance, cheer, and some introductory stunting. After learning new skills and taking some breaks to play Duck, Duck, Goose and Freeze Frame, the aspiring cheerleaders performed for their parents at the end of the event. The spirited girls are (top row, from left) Hazel Grace Dagley, Daisy McPherson, Vivi Varner, Hudson McPhail, (bottom row, from left) Evie Hirvensalo, Adalyn Kim, Joselle McPherson, Ava Grace Varner, and Blake McAdams.
