Multiple police tires slashed outside NYPD precinct where officers were fatally shot

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Multiple vehicles parked near the Harlem precinct where two officers were killed during a shooting ambush had their tires slashed on Wednesday night, authorities said.

A marked NYPD car and van at the 32nd Precinct each had their rear driver's-side tires slashed, along with a van from the Darien, CT police department had its rear passenger-side tire slashed at around 6:30 p.m., officials said.

Officials are searching for still looking for a suspect.

Officer Wilbert Mora, 27, and his partner, Officer Jason Rivera, 22, were shot on Jan. 21st while responding to a domestic disturbance at an apartment on W. 135th Street, just down the street from the 32nd Precinct stationhouse.

Rivera died on Friday and Mora was taken off life support Tuesday.

Both officers will be remembered and honored at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan.

The man who shot the officers, 47-year-old Lashawn McNeil, died of his injuries at a hospital Monday, according to police.
