Apparently skinny jeans are dead: 5 trends to try instead in 2022

Apparently skinny jeans are DEAD and I'm personally offended. First, my side-part is dated, now my jeans. Have I given away my age yet? Yes, I'm a mom in my 30s.

Skinny jeans were once dubbed as the denim trend that would never die, but here we are. So, what the heck are we supposed to wear? Here are five 2022-approved denim options to keep your look fresh and on trend.

Baggy Jeans

Baggy jeans are all about being comfortable and looking genderless. Get the perfect pair at ASOS, Good American or your boyfriend's closet? Pair with a beanie to amplify that gender-fluid aesthetic. Baggy is back, y'all.

Flares

If you're looking to the celebs for inspiration, check out J-LO and her flare jeans. These '70s denim styles are the gift that keeps on giving. Tight or baggy flares are both a yes right now. Shop H&M as an affordable way to try the trend.

Patchwork

Think denim-on-denim patches. Shop Acne Studios for the perfect pair of trendy patchwork jeans. Or maybe a DIY project at home?

Dresses

This is a trend I can get behind. Shop Guess denim dress staples that apparently NEVER go out of style.

Embellished

I'm not saying to run out and buy those sparkle butt jeans with white stitching. Just... don't. But a little extra flair never hurt anyone! Shop Nordstrom designer jeans for some fun picks.

Now the fine print.

If you're like me and you have a closet full of skinny jeans - you do you, boo! Rock those things. We all know fashion comes and goes. #SkinnyJeans4Life!
