Chevrolet Reveals Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition

These special edition ‘Vettes celebrate the longest-running automotive nameplate on the road today.

The 2023 model year is a significant one for the Chevrolet Corvette, being the chosen year for the first Z06 of the C8 generation to usher in a screaming, Ferrari-like 5.5-liter V8.

It also marks the Corvette’s 70th anniversary, which Chevy claims makes it the longest running nameplate of any car on the road today. And that calls for a celebratory, special-edition Z06.

Buyers can choose between two color schemes—a new White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat with optional Satin Gray racing stripes or a blacked-out Carbon Flash Metallic with optional Satin Black racing stripes.

The entirely aesthetic package also includes some flashy black wheels with commemorative center caps, plus an Edge Red accent stripe and brake calipers.

That final detail ties into the cockpit, where two-tone Ceramic leather seats (GT2 or Competition Sport) are stitched red to match the rims and seatbelts.

There’s also a host of 70th Anniversary badging, from redesign of the hood logo’s Corvette crossflags to the interior’s seats, steering wheel and sill plates, as well as a custom red-stitched luggage set.

The very first Corvette Z06 will be a 70th Anniversary edition, and the world will see it very soon at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottdale auction on January 29.

All proceeds from the sale benefit Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit focused on building strong, stable and secure military families.

Chevy also auctioned off the first C8-gen Corvette Stingray in 2020 for an astounding $3 million, so expect the higher-performance, 2023 Corvette Z06 VIN 001 to crack seven figures.
