The North Charleston Police Department is praising the heroic efforts of an officer!

On Thursday, authorities announced M.P.O. Michael Cook was awarded the agency's “Life Saving Award” for November 2021.
According to officials, on Nov. 12, 2021, Cook responded to the Ashley Phosphate Road overpass to Interstate 26 where a man was threatening to jump.
The officer grabbed the man and pulled him back over the railing to safety.
On Wednesday, ABC News 4 spoke with a member of the Charleston Police Department who took similar actions to stop a man from jumping off of the North Bridge earlier this month.
