Following a long promo battle between the pair on this week’s “Beach Break” themed episode of Dynamite, it was confirmed that CM Punk and MJF will go one-on-one next week on AEW Dynamite.
Despite Punk being ready for the match to happen this week, even coming out in his ring attire, MJF instead elected to delay the bout by one week. MJF justified the decision by bashing Cleveland, before stating that he plans to beat Punk in his “dumpster fire” of a hometown. Next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite is set to air from Chicago, IL.
Even with no match occurring this week, MJF accompanied by Wardlow, Shawn Spears, FTR and Wardlow would attack Punk with a chair leaving him lying in the ring.
