Sixers: 3 reasons not to trade for Kyrie Irving

As the deadline nears, a number of teams are being mentioned as potential trade partners, with different players being discussed daily. One player that the media loves to discuss in a potential Ben Simmons deal is Kyrie Irving, due to the immense storylines that would come from such a monumental superstar swap.

Both Kyrie and Ben are superstar point guards. Both are under 30 years old. Both are multiple time All-Stars. Both have been selected to various All-NBA awards teams. When both are on the court, they objectively improve the team they play for. However, it also needs to be said that both are immature. Both are self-centered. Both don’t see their own faults. And lastly, but most importantly, both are bad teammates.

The trade deadline is closing in on Feb. 10 and the hottest topic is if the Sixers will move Ben Simmons. Is Kyrie Irving worth exploring?

With all that said, why would the Sixers trade one problem for a different problem. If I am Daryl Morey, the only way I pick up the phone if the Brooklyn Nets call is if they want to discuss trading James Harden and that will clearly not happen during the season.

Even if Kyrie happens to be the most talented player that has come up in Ben Simmons trade speculation to this point, that does not mean he presents the best trade option for the Sixers. There are a number of factors that need to be considered, so before the Kyrie trade talk goes any farther, I am here to shut it down. Here are three reasons the Sixers should not consider trading for Kyrie.
