Celebrity Mastermind is gearing up for a new year of specialist subjects, with 56 stars from across all walks of life set to take a seat in the infamous Mastermind chair.

Ahead of the new series, which will begin next month, Celebrity Mastermind has unveiled its line-up for 2022 – and it features everyone from actors and journalists to comedians and drag queens.

Spread across 14 weeks, familiar faces from the likes of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, Gogglebox, Strictly Come Dancing, EastEnders and Emmerdale will all face Clive Myrie's questioning.

From Drag Race UK we have The Vivienne, who will be showing off her knowledge of Cher, and from Gogglebox there's Tom Malone Jr, who's keen to prove he knows Ricky Hatton inside and out.

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional and It Takes Two host Janette Manrara will also appear, answering questions on Disney's renaissance era, while Tracy Beaker's Dani Harmer will put her knowledge of RuPaul's Drag Race to the test.

Legendary EastEnders baddie John Altman, AKA Nasty Nick, will face questions on the Isle of Wight, Sugababes' Amelle Berrabah will be asked about the exploration of Mars (!), and James Acaster will be quizzed on all things ice cream.

It's a real variety pack, isn't it?

Other notable Mastermind hopefuls for this year include Blue's Antony Costa, comedians Rufus Hound and Nish Kumar, I'm a Celebrity's Snoochie Shy, former Hollyoaks star Jeremy Edwards, Emmerdale's Anna Nightingale and the woman with no authority, Jackie Weaver.

As well as competing for the coveted Celebrity Mastermind trophy, the celebrities will be hoping to raise money for their chosen charities.

"I can't wait to reveal how some of the nation's best loved celebrities deal with the black chair," Clive Myrie said of the new series.

"It'll be fun for viewers, though maybe less for our celebs, but win or lose, they'll be helping their favourite charities. So bring it on!"

The new series of Celebrity Mastermind begins Saturday, February 5 at 7.15pm on BBC One.
