Where do you think they will go with Hope. I cant ever see Fiz or Tyrone leaving so Hope will be here for the duration.

Given her dad was "evil" it gives them the scope to do that with her but how far do you think they will go, and at what age will they do it.

If the actress stays in the role, it means she has a shelf life, even if that is a few years but at some point she would have to go.

I can't see them resisting the chance of turning her into some kind of serial killer but unless they wait till she is 18, that's 6 years of her being the demon child till then.

I just wonder how long before they do the inevitable with the character as they seem to be going down the route that she will be bad.

How can Ruby and Hope be better actors than Kirk, Sean, Izzy, Chesney, Tyrone, Fiz, Gemma and Craig.

I think Hope might have to get professional help or be sent to Birmingham again when Fiz finds out what she did. She will probably leave the show for a bit and then come back thinking she is completely better

Yes, I thought that but let's face it - soaps love a serial killer so have bred one on the street seems a natural progression!!

I cant think that they won't make her evil

Hope has some great facial expressions.

It feels like Hope will be poor evil whereas David flips back to being normal in between troubled periods. With Hope it feels she will be all or nothing.

David flips as the writers back track to keep him on the show.

    I agree. Look at Gary!

Given her father and what we have seen there is the capacity to go full throttle. Then again what age is it acceptable for them to show a child as a serial killer. And would they do what they have done with Summer and get an older actress to do it.

Otherwise she is just a super b1tch and never goes past lies and manipulation like she is doing at the moment.

My issue with the likes of David and Tracy is that everyone else becomes daft and forgetful to accommodate their relevance.

But the thing is i wouldn't really call John Stape he just a bumbling idiot who got himself into bad situations, all of his bad acts were accidental he never planned or plotted anything evil and he was always remorseful, he was certainly not a psychopath like Hope is showing clear signs of being.

Hope is more like a throwback to Cilla than she is to John to be honest!!

Once he murdered in the live episode it broke away from that bumbling fool routine and I got bored.

I can live with that! She's a good little actress.

It seems clear that corrie are wanting to create a serial killer in hope which I’m not sure has ever been done. It looks like hollyoaks are trying it too with Bobby. Both actors are very capable especially the girl playing hope. Her sister who plays April in emmerdale is also really good too.

Hope is a good little actress, but I can't think of a suitable storyline for her as she grows up: we don't want any more murderers.

Kids becoming serial killers - is this really how low soaps are going? And they wonder why people switch off.

Its interesting. I just can't at this stage not see soaps going down that route. Let's face it Eastenders had the powerful domestic violence storyline and turned Gray into a serial killer - almost wiping out the importantance of the original story which happened to fall at lockdown, with DV was in the spotlight.

Here they have Hope a daughter of someone they turned into a murderer. They have been setting up her behaviour for years.

The actress is good (although doesn't always convert to adulthood (Chesney, Simon) but if she does, they face having to write her out.

They could make her borderline evil but even then she will have a shelf life. I just can't see them not going down the serial killer route.

Its just when its an acceptable age to do and what they do to continue the momentum on her character now.

I do wonder if she may kill Ruby at some point. I can see a recast of Ruby coming quite soon.

Anyone who watches hollyoaks will have seen Bobby letting sylver die. We then find out he’s been playing chess with Silas so Silas has been grooming him for probably a long time. Sylver did leave a voicemail saying Bobby has gone for help which shows he lied about seeing him, it’s just when will that be seen. He’ll no doubt talk his way out like hope does when she has to.

Hope is great, obviously a bit of a problem child but the main issue is that Fiz is a terrible mum who believes every word her lying little brat tells her.

I actually preferred it when she had some more everyday scenes like her friendship with Sam. We need to see another side of her before earmarking her as a murderer in waiting

John Stape was more like a pantomime villain. Hope is pure evil. The way she framed Bernie for Joseph’s disappearance shows just how cold and calculating she is.

God I hope not 😕 They’ve already killed off Ruby’s mum. It’s a bit much to bump her off as well.

Just a thought but could Corrie be heading down a child psychopath storyline route with Hope based on the Born Psychopath/Post-Graduate Psychopath episodes of Law and Order SVU but played out soap style over the coming years?

If they go down the mental health route then that could work. Just because she has mental health issues doesn't mean she'll be a serial killer (rather an offensive trope), but then this is Corrie!
