WWE: Will Trish Stratus Be in the Women's Royal Rumble Match?

You'd be hard-pressed to think of a WWE superstar who has had a bigger run than Roman Reigns, with the "Tribal Chief" recently adding the World Heavyweight Championship belt to his repertoire following his victory against Brock Lesnar at this year's WrestleMania. While the next few matches for Reigns have apparently been decided, it would seem that a potential future WWE superstar stared down the duel belt-wielding champion at a recent World Wrestling Entertainment event, with Roman responding in kind and creating a viral video for fans of the professional wrestling organization.

Rumors popped up earlier this week via Brian Blair that Hulk Hogan was going to be involved in Ric Flair's final match coming up on July 31 at the Nashville Fairgrounds as part of Starrcast V. The match was originally pitched as a six-man tag bout involving Flair and FTR against the Rock N' Roll Express and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Steamboat then stated publicly that he had turned down the match, leaving that final spot open. When Blair mentioned Hogan's name during a recent interview regarding the match, many took that as him accidentally leaking that "The Hulkster" was making a comeback too.

Sasha Banks and Naomi's walkout from the May 16 episode of Monday Night Raw sparked a number of responses from the WWE, including an indefinite suspension, stripping of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships and an official statement harshly criticizing the pair. It has also resulted in WWE's commentary team consistently bringing the pair up, with Corey Graves saying their decision was unprofessional while Michael Cole talked on SmackDown about how they had let the WWE Universe down. Graves received some flack for his comments, though many fans assumed he was merely parroting whatever Vince McMahon ordered him to say.

MJF has been one of All Elite Wrestling's four pillars since the company launched, but in recent months reports and rumors have surrounded his future with the company. Reports have stated that the relationship between MJF and AEW President Tony Khan has been rocky this year, with rumors of heated discussions between the two after MJF said he might not be staying with AEW after his contract runs out in two years, which would open the door for WWE. During today's Double or Nothing media call Khan was asked about MJF and the conflicts in real life and in story, and evidently MJF didn't love what he heard (or just wanted to troll some people) and he reportedly quickly posted a comment and then deleted it, writing "F this place" in response.

There definitely is a dark side of the ring that has been chronicled on numerous occasions when it comes to the world of professional wrestling, but one of the latest involves WWE's Alexa Bliss and a "fan" that made threatening remarks to the point where the superstar contacted the authorities. With Bliss taking on a darker motif to follow in the footsteps of the Fiend, Bray Wyatt's departure from World Wrestling Entertainment has left Alexa as a superstar within the organization who isn't afraid to tap into her dark side if the need arises.

CM Punk has been with All Elite Wrestling for just over nine months and Sunday's Double or Nothing pay-per-view will mark the first time he'll challenge for the AEW World Championship. Some fans believed Punk would have (or should have) been pushed into the main event shortly after his August 2021 debut. Instead, Punk slowly worked his way up the card with feuds against Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston and MJF before finally turning his attention to Adam "Hangman" Page. ComicBook asked Tony Khan if he was ever tempted to shoot Punk straight to the top during a media conference call on Thursday and the AEW president maintained that he always planned for the former WWE star to slowly work his way up the rankings.

WWE's upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view has been relocated from Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, a smaller arena that can reach a capacity of around 17,000. Meanwhile, Allegiant Stadium can hold around 71,000, so it is a much smaller venue. No reason for the move was given by WWE in their official announcement, but it turns out the venue might not be the only thing changing in regards to the event. WWE released a new poster for Money in the Bank after the announcement of the move, and the new poster removes some of the stars that were featured in the original one, including Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch (via Cageside Seats).

Adam "Hangman" Page and CM Punk met face-to-face on this week's AEW Dynamite for one final promo ahead of their AEW World Championship match at this Sunday's Double or Nothing. Punk consistently asked why Page was so upset about the match and why he was taking things so personally, while Page angrily cut a promo about how he pitied Punk and how he would be defending all of All Elite Wrestling from him. Punk retorted by saying he paved the way for AEW and everything Page was able to accomplish, then demanded the champion shake his hand. After a shove, Page finally lot it and nailed Punk with a punch.

Following Triple H's announcement that he would be retiring from wrestling in the ring, the superstar's wife, Stephanie McMahon, announced that she would be taking a leave of absence from the WWE, and her responsibilities as Chief Brand Officer for the wrestling organization. Now, news has hit the wire with regards to a recent all-hands meeting in World Wrestling Entertainment in which McMahon's absence was addressed, while also clarifying that it might be some time before the daughter of Vince McMahon makes a return to the company that she has been a part of for quite some time.

WWE is beyond excited about the potential held by Olympic gold medalist and NCAA Champion Gable Steveson, and looks for the Champion to be one of their next major stars. Steveson recently retired from the world of amateur wrestling, leaving his shoes on the mat after his defeating Cohlton Schultz for the NCAA Heavyweight National Championship. His time in amateur wrestling might not be at its end though, as Gophers wrestling coach Brandon Eggum recently hinted he wants to return in a recent interview with TwinCities.com, but it would be something he would have to work out with WWE.
