GCW owner Brett Lauderdale says that while The WRLD On GCW was a “smash hit” in terms of business, he feels like he let people down. As noted, Sunday’s PPV was GCW’s most successful event on FITE TV, but Lauderdale took to Twitter to explain how he “got played” and wasn’t happy. He also noted that the show was “a learning experience” for him.

Lauderdale wrote:

“Sunday was a smash hit business wise for gcw. All records shattered and its not even close. But im not happy at all. Feel like I let a lot of people down. Got played and I shoulda known better. Big time learning experience. Gonna work harder than ever to get a 2nd chance.”

Lauderdale did not clarify what he meant, though he had posted comments alluding to things he wished he could have done different on Monday:

“Last night was crazy. I’m so proud of our crew and our fans. #TheWrldOnGCW was indie wrestling history.

Of course, there are things I wish we could/would have done differently, but some things were just out of our hands. I did my best.

Thanks for the support.”
