Samsung To Accelerate Firmware Update Release In Europe

Samsung has made changes to the distribution of its updates so that European customers can get a firmware update faster. According to the Sammobile report, releasing the firmware update in Europe is no longer tied to country-specific code (CSC).

Also, the Galaxy A52 (4G version) is at the forefront of adopting the change. The new process means that a CSC works all through different European countries. This way, the firmware update release speed is doubled. After the Galaxy A52, Samsung foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3, will follow the same path. The Galaxy A52 has just received an Android 12 update with One UI 4.0.

As per the Galaxy Club report, “EUX” firmware is the only CSC developing for Samsung’s upcoming devices in Europe. After the successful implementation, Samsung is expected to take the same path for all its upcoming devices in the region.

More Samsung devices are in the queue

The Samsung Galaxy A52 and the company’s foldable devices won’t be alone in receiving faster firmware updates. Sammobile claims that the Galaxy S22, A53, A33, and A13 will have a similar CSC in Europe.

This new strategy from Samsung has some benefits. First, it can speed up the firmware update distribution in the region. Also, the company doesn’t have to develop and release various versions of a firmware update.

Moreover, less Country Specific Code (CSC) means that more users in more countries can join early beta programs for future updates. For now, we should wait and see how the company performs at distributing its firmware updates.

Samsung is proactive in providing updates for its products and keeps its products constantly updated. Also, compared to products like Google Pixel, Samsung devices have fewer software bugs. This has led many to consider Samsung more successful than Google in updating. This is while Android belongs to Google and Samsung is just using it for its devices.

Galaxy S20 Series owners in the United States have just received the January update. Also, Android 12 update has rolled out for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series.
