Chase Clark has received a promotion from Florida coach Billy Napier, who retained him on staff.

Clark was announced Wednesday as the Gators’ assistant director of college personnel / on-campus recruiting coordinator. He joined the UF football program in 2019 as an assistant director of player personnel, assisting in player evaluation and recruiting.

The Birmingham, Ala., native graduated in 2016 from the University of Alabama, serving on Nick Saban’s staff in a player personnel role (2012-16). Clark spent four of those years working with Napier.

Clark was an intern with the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 before joining the UAB football program as Director of Recruiting (2018-19).

Clark plays a role in Florida’s recruiting efforts in the state of Alabama, helping the Gators land top-100 signee Shemar James and freshman linebacker Scooby Williams, a top-100 recruit in the Class of 2021.

Chase Clark joins Napier’s Army

Clark is the 49th hire announced by Napier and the 33rd off-the-field staffer for the Gators. Clark is the fifth member of the previous staff that Napier has retained, along with Paul Silvestri (director of sports health), Paul Pasqualoni (director of advanced scouting and self scout), Vernell Brown Jr. (senior director of player development and alumni Relations) and Corey Bell (quality control – running backs).

Sean Spencer (co-defensive coordinator/defensive line), Patrick Toney (co-defensive coordinator/safeties), Corey Raymond (cornerbacks), Mike Peterson (outside linebackers) and Jay Bateman (inside linebackers) are the defensive coaches on staff.

Rob Sale (offensive coordinator/offensive line), Jabbar Juluke (running backs), Darnell Stapleton (offensive line), Keary Colbert (receivers) and William Peagler (tight ends) round out the coaching staff.

A pair of analysts who will assist the on-field coaches are Ryan O’Hara (quarterbacks – Napier) and Jamar Chaney (linebackers – Peterson).

Additionally, Napier has tapped Mark Hocke to run the strength and conditioning program. Hocke will be joined by Joe Danos, Karmichael Dunbar, Tiger Jones, Edward Thompson and Alex Watkins.

“We’re going to hire an army of people here. We’re going to create an infrastructure not only in the personnel department but also from on-campus recruiting, creative media, name, image, and likeness. We’ve got a great vision for the organization that we’re going to create here,” Napier said during his introductory press conference.
