Worthington, MN (KICD)– Two Minnesota men have been formally charged with felony drug offenses after an October traffic stop reportedly yielded more than 50 pounds of controlled substances.

The Worthington Globe reports the stop was initiated along Interstate 90 by the Minnesota State Patrol which led to the trooper becoming suspicious of the story given by 57-year-old Hans Dammermann and 29-year-old Andrew Bagniewski saying they were asked to transport a vehicle for a dealer from California to Wisconsin.

Further investigation led to the alleged discovery of 54 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia.

Both men scheduled to be in court next month and face up to 20 years in prison and a quarter million dollar fine.
