Wausau Pilot & Review

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Carsen Gause scored in overtime to lift the Wisconsin Rapids boys hockey team to a 6-5 win over Wausau West in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday at the South Wood County Ice Arena.

Carson Gunderson and Josh Dekarske each scored two goals, and Jacob Dekarske added another for Wisconsin Rapids as it handed Wausau West its first conference loss of the season. Rapids is now 14-5 overall and 5-3 in the Valley.

Judah Leder scored twice, and Connor Wendell, Thomas Gerum and Tyler Cleveland had goals for West (12-5-2, 7-1 WVC).

West hosts Eau Claire North for a nonconference game Thursday at the Marathon Park Ice Arena. Rapids is off until Feb. 1 when it plays at Wausau East/Merrill.
