Alan Saunders of Steelers now says they have obtained real estate and property records that show Tuitt’s home was under contract on January 22 after going on the market January 16.

The fact that Tuitt is selling his home isn’t proof that his playing days with the Steelers or playing at all are done, but it is another clue.

Talking to the PM Team on Monday, retiring defensive coordinator Keith Butler said he doesn’t know what the organization is thinking and where Tuitt is.

“To be honest with you, I don’t know where he’s sitting mentally . . . that’s something that’s very private and we didn’t know a whole lot about,” said Butler. “The thing that happened to him and his family was very, very hard on him and he really struggled with it.”

Tuitt’s brother was killed after a tragic hit-and-run before the beginning of the 2021 season.
Tuitt did not play at all last season dealing with the loss of his brother as well as a knee injury.

“I hope he comes back for the team, I don’t know if he will, we’ll see what happens,” said Butler.

Tuitt is set to make over $9 million with the Steelers next season. If Tuitt retires or is cut the Steelers will have about $9.7 million of dead money on their cap.
