In the latest TV show ratings, Fox‘s Our Kind of People wrapped its freshman run with 1.34 million total viewers (its best audience in four episodes) and a 0.3 demo rating (per Nielsen finals), ticking up a tenth week-to-week.
TVLine readers gave the yet-to-be-renewed drama’s finale an average grade of “A-“; read recap.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Steve Harvey is not a judge or lawyer and merely offers an alternative forum of dispute resolution.
Has there been any rumbling about Abbott Elementary from ABC? They seem pleased with the L+35 numbers according to deadline, but does it bode well for it seeing a full season?
I think it’s more difficult as the show has wrapped filming on its initial order. They would have to get everything in place inc scripts to do more episodes. It’s not impossible I just think it may not be worth the effort unless it’s a back nine. But I wouldn’t be shocked if they do something at the very least.
I would doubt that a back nine is an.option, now next season, probably early renewal is possible, I would gues abbot elementary is tied to blackish, with blackish 1 week behind so they can have the 1 hour final
Thanks for all the replies. Did not realize that they wrapped already for the season, although I should have known better since it was a mid-season replacement. Deadline is saying it quadruples it’s demo on L+35 so that might be favorable for a second season. Was just thinking about this since CBS gave Ghosts an early renewal.
wth is L+35,I thought they only cared about +7?
Sorry, my mistake. The article classified it as MP35, which is “after 35 days of viewing across ABC’s linear and digital platforms” – that’s what quadrupled the live demo (or the L+SD, which I think is the L+7 number – the article doesn’t clarify on that).
It probably doesn’t bode well for keeping it on ABC but maybe Disney+ or STAR is interested in keeping it in business.
There is a LOT working in AE’s favor on this one.
First, it is well reviewed.
Second, it is relatively cheap to make because none of the stars are particularly expensive. 2-3 aren’t dirt cheap, but they aren’t far off of being dirt cheap. Further of the 2-3 not dirt cheap actors, 2 of them could be replaced easily enough to keep them from demanding exorbitant money in the future. Heck, both of them are at the point in their careers where they probably value the steady check to the point where they’ll be very happy with whatever they get. Point being, the show isn’t that expensive to produce.
.
Finally, with Blackish ending, ABC’s lineup is losing a high quality show built around POC. I’m sure ABC would love to have a replacement, and in Abbot they such a show. Sure, the cast is mostly POC. But it is also a very good show, and would be just as funny/entertaining no matter the racial makeup of the cast.
.
So I think we’ll get a S2 unless there is some show on their pilot slate that is just blowing them away.
I’m loving Abbott Elementary and American Auto, hope they’re doing well enough for renewals. Last night’s A Auto episode was incredible. Best episode of a comedy I’ve seen in a while.
Same. Love both these shows. I also thought American Auto was excellent satire last night.
Still almost a million sets of eyeballs on Supes last night. Not too shabby.
Grand Crew and Abbott Elementary are the 2 best broadcast comedies in years!!!
I really enjoyed Our Kind of People. It was a black created show done right. Grand Crew…not so much. I really hope Our Kind of People gets another season somewhere.
I love our kind of people. Hope it gets a 2nd season. Me and my friends have a discussion group after every episode
Bring Our Kind of People back!! Not enough shows like that!!!
I wish This Is Us would at least get 5 million+ and a 1 in Live. It deserves it for its final season. C’est la vie.
I’M BACK!!
All I’m asking AGAIN is to bring back Our Kind of People for season 2,3, 4 &more!! Make it happen FOX!!
I wish that’s y’all come out with another seasons n for Our Kind of People because I love watching this TV series so please come back.
Our Kind of People definitely deserves another season if not multiple seasons. For over 1 millions viewers for a new show is great. It shouldn’t be compared with seasoned shows in their 4th, 5th, or 6th seasons. Maybe move the time slot to 8 or 10 so there’s not so much competition w/ seasoned shows that have a fan base. Or change the day from Tuesday to another day. Bring back Our Kind of People
Well, guess that explains Our Kind of People
I like American Auto
Hope they bring our kind of people back if not I wish it get picked up by another station like B E T or Own
While very sad they are letting all kinds of people cancel. It’s an excellent show But yet they wanna keep Steve HarveyJust not fair
