Edge made his return to the ring two years ago in the WWE Royal Rumble after nearly a decade away due to a neck injury.
One year later, Edge returned again at the Royal Rumble from a torn triceps. In the 2021 Royal Rumble, Edge speared Styles out of his boots, causing a shoulder separation according to AJ.
Styles has been looking for revenge ever since.
"The last time Edge and I were in the ring together, he separated my shoulder with a spear, which is the way it should have been. We need to get back in the ring with a one-on-one match and get this thing over with. I want this match. He wants this match. When it going to happen? We're getting close," said Styles on WWE's The Bump when discussing a potential match against Edge.
While Styles is set to compete in the 2022 Royal Rumble, Edge will be teaming with his wife Beth Phoenix to battle fellow husband and wife duo The Miz & Maryse.
