NBA Twitter reacts to Wizards monumental 35-point collapse to Clippers

The Washington Wizards are owned by the Monumental Sports and Entertainment group. Tuesday, the Wizards had a monumental collapse, blowing a 35-point lead and losing to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Washington led the game 66-36 at halftime. That lead grew to 35 before the Clippers stormed back by outscoring the Wizards 80-49 in the second half.

Washington’s meltdown was highlighted by two critical plays in the final eight seconds of the game. First after a timeout while up three with 8.2 seconds, the Wizards were called for a 5-second violation. Kyle Kuzma failed to inbound the ball in time causing a turnover.

On the ensuing possession, Bradley Beal fouled Clippers guard Luke Kennard, shooting a three which he made with 1.9 seconds remaining. That tied the game. Then Kennard made the go-ahead free throw, putting the Clippers up 116-115 to complete the comeback.

It was an epic comeback from the Clippers’ standpoint and an embarrassing collapse for the Wizards. In fact, it’s the second-largest comeback in the NBA since 1996-97.

How the Wizards blow a 35-point lead to a Clippers team that had no Paul George, Kawhi Leonard or Marcus Morris? A stunned NBA world reacted on Twitter.
