PS5 Restock Update for GameStop, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Antonline and More

Those hoping to get their hands on a PS5 are in luck this week, as Sony's next-gen console is due to be restocked at a number of outlets.

The likes of Walmart and Amazon should be releasing new units over the coming days.

To help you prepare for this and increase your chances of getting a PS5, Newsweek has compiled all of the relevant information below.

Here is the latest restock update for every major U.S. retailer.

GameStop PS5 Restock

An in-store PS5 restock at GameStop has been confirmed for Thursday, January 27.

According to consumer tech expert Matt Swider (whose sources never steer him wrong on these things), the disc edition of the console will be available in a $747 bundle at select locations.

While that might sound like a lot of money to be paying, it is worth noting that you will get copies of both Call of Duty: Vanguard and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart with your purchase, as well as a red DualSense controller and a $50 GameStop gift card.

While the exact list of participating outlets has not been revealed yet, we do know that the PS5 bundles will be available as soon as the stores open. As such, you will need to get up bright and early if you want to beat the crowds.

One final thing to bear in mind is that you will need to be registered for GameStop's PowerUp Rewards Pro scheme to make a purchase. A membership for this loyalty program costs $14.99 a year.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Amazon is due to be selling PS5s at some point this week, seeing as it has established its own monthly restock pattern.

The marketplace's last drop took place towards the end of December, and so it stands to reason that it should be doing the same thing again in the final days of January.

It's also worth noting that the merchant has never coordinated a console restock over a weekend before, which narrows down the possibilities even further.

As such, we advise that you pay close attention to Amazon's PS5 product page on both January 27 and January 28. Sometimes these restocks are exclusive to Amazon Prime members, so it might be worth setting up a subscription to this service if you don't already have one.

Walmart PS5 Restock

As a general rule of thumb, it has been observed by expert trackers that Walmart usually restocked every other Thursday at 3 p.m. ET in 2021.

If the outlet is going to continue adhering to this two-week routine this year, then its next drop should occur in the afternoon of January 27 (given that the last one fell on January 13).

Costco PS5 Restock

Costco hardly ever sells next-gen gaming systems, which makes it even more unexpected when a drop suddenly takes place out of the blue.

The merchant replenished its PS5 inventory (for the first time since October 2021) on Monday, January 24. Here, the console was available to purchase as part of a bundle, shipping alongside a headset, an extra DualSense controller, a year's PS Plus subscription and a 1-month membership for the PlayStation Now streaming service.

As is to be expected, this restock did not last very long and the supplies have now been thoroughly depleted.

Costco does not organize PS5 drops very often but, if there is another surprise like there was on Monday, dedicated console trackers will be the first to let you know.

Target PS5 Restock

Target recently stopped coordinating nationwide PS5 drops, which means that individual branches are now in charge of scheduling their own restocks.

With that in mind, it's impossible to provide a comprehensive overview of the retail chain's PS5 inventory levels, without manually checking on each store in the country.

The best way to find out if there are any units available near you is to visit the Target website first thing every morning and then click on the "You're Shopping" button (in the top left-hand corner of the screen).

This will present you with an option to enter your local ZIP code, so that you can browse PS5 stocks of stores in your region.

Newegg PS5 Restock

Newegg Shuffles are often a fantastic way of getting a hold of PS5 units.

After all, the daily winners are chosen at random, meaning that you don't need to be especially quick on the draw. All you need to do is enter the lottery draw before it closes, and you are in with a shot.

Unfortunately, the Newegg Shuffle for Wednesday, January 26 does not feature either the PS5 or the Xbox Series X. The contents of the draw will be refreshed at 11 a.m. ET each day, so make sure to keep checking in case there is an update.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

Sony's official storefront coordinates its PS5 restocks in a slightly unusual fashion, in the sense that you must get an explicit invitation if you hope to ever join the virtual queue.

These emails are only sent to registered PlayStation Network (PSN) users who have expressed an interest on the PS Direct website. If you have not done this, then you will not receive an invitation until you do.

For a more detailed explanation of how the process works, Newsweek has already prepared a comprehensive guide.

Sam's Club PS5 Restock

The PS5 is currently displaying as "Sold Out" at Sam's Club, but there is an opportunity to get an Xbox Series S from the retailer instead.

At the time of writing, the all-digital console is available in a $399.98 bundle. If you are interested, this comes with a spare "Pulse Red" controller, a stereo headset and vouchers that can be redeemed for both Fortnite and Rocket League (entitling you to deposits of V-Bucks and Credits respectively).

Antonline PS5 Restock

Similar Rocket League and Fortnite bundles are up for grabs at Antonline. You can also just order the Xbox Series S as a standalone item from the retailer, where it is listed for its standard price of $299.

Antonline is not selling the PS5 right now.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy released new PS5 units on Thursday, January 20 and since then there have been no subsequent drops.

For timely updates on the situation at Best Buy, we recommend that you follow dedicated console trackers like @GYXdeals, @SupplyNinja and @Wario64 on Twitter and switch on notifications.
