EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Henrik Lundqvist will discuss his career and retirement as a special guest on "The Eli Manning Show" on Thursday.

Lundqvist, who will have his No. 30 retired by the New York Rangers when they host the Minnesota Wild on Friday (8 p.m. ET; NHLN, MSG, BSN, NHL LIVE), is looking forward to sitting down with the two-time Super Bowl champion and MVP.
"Anytime you have an opportunity to talk to other athletes, I think it's pretty easy to understand each other, where you're coming from and the feelings you had towards the game and also the next steps," Lundqvist said. "I feel it's easy to relate to one another.
"I've been following Eli and his career, and it's been amazing to watch. I didn't grow up watching football, but I really appreciated the game and especially the quarterback role with how they had to deal with the pressure."

Manning had his No. 10 jersey retired during a halftime ceremony on Sept. 26 and was inducted into the Giants Ring of Honor.
"Me and Eli played in the city 15 years and I never really ran into him until now and we're both retired," Lundqvist said. "It'll be great to catch up on the show."
Lundqvist announced his retirement from the NHL on Aug. 20. He's the Rangers leader in wins (459), shutouts (67), saves (23,509) and has played and started the most games for them (887, 752 starts).
