WATCH: Devils' Mike McLeod dropped by Luke Glendening in lopsided fight
Former Devils first-round draft pick Mike McLeod came in to defend a teammate during a skirmish on the ice in New Jersey’s loss to the Stars on Monday night, and McLeod ended up seeing stars.
McLeod came in after Dallas’ Luke Glendening, who hadn’t been in a fight on the ice since 2018. Glendening didn’t appear to have any rust, as he dropped McLeod to the ice after two powerful right hooks to the face, the second one sending McLeod straight down to the ice.
A bloody McLeod was helped to his feet and off the ice by a trainer.
The knockdown of McLeod symbolized the Devils performance as a whole, as the team was thoroughly overmatched in a 5-1 loss in Newark.
