Motherly Statue Real vs. Fake

The Motherly Statue is based off the real-life “The Capitoline Wolf” art sculpture. It depicts a large wolf-like creature that is bearing milk to twin infants. It’s inspired by the legend surrounding the founding of Rome.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the fake version of the Motherly Statue has the wolf sticking out its tongue, as you can see on the right if you look carefully. The real version simply features the wolf with a closed mouth. So, when you’re at Redd’s, look for the tongue to tell if it’s a forgery.
