The Minnesota Vikings are hiring the Cleveland Browns Vice President of Football Operations, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the team's new General Manager according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Adofo-Mensah is taking over for Rick Spielman, who held the position from 2006 until this season and will be the team's fifth general manager in the 21st century.
During his time in the league, Adofo-Mensah has worked for the San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns, where he was hired in 2020.
With the 49ers, Adofo-Mensah served as the team's Manager of Football Research and Development from 2013 to 2017 and the Director of Football Research and Development from 2017 to 2019.
Outside the NFL, Adofo-Mensah graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in economics and from Stanford University with a master's degree in economics. He also worked for Taylor Woods Capital and Credit Suisse.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Adofo-Mensah was one of two finalists for the job from the list of candidates the team interviewed. The other finalist was the Chiefs' director of player personnel, Ryan Poles.
