It was a public relations disaster for ERCOT but the interim CEO is rushing to reassure Texans it won't happen again.

ERCOT Interim President and CEO Brad Jones took questions during a virtual town hall streamed from Fort Worth last night and said power generating companies are under new rules this time around.

One change he says will make a big difference is forcing some generating companies to have on-site fuel tanks in case the state's natural gas transmission system fails.

Jones also said that out of more than 300 generating companies and 20 power transmission plants only three failed to meet new standards put in place since last February's debacle.
